Sprouts

Freeport, Maine

Half Day Nature Immersion Program for Ages 4-5*

September through May, Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00am to 12:30pm

The 2025-26 Homeschool Program runs the week of September 15th through week of May 21st.

ABOUT SPROUTS

In our Sprouts program, young children have the opportunity to cultivate a strong connection with the natural world through hands on exploration, story telling and imaginative play. The forest gives us ample opportunities to develop balance, resilience, focus and motor skills. We have so much fun climbing, running, jumping, digging and splashing our way through the landscape, learning about our plant and animal friends as we go. Together we practice being kind, mindful and respectful friends to each other and to all the living things in our ecosystem. Nature crafts, yoga, music, plant and animal identification and gardening all find their way into our magical mornings together. There is a 6:1 Child to Staff ratio in Sprouts with up to 12 children.

The program will be outdoors, rain, snow or shine unless weather is extreme and potentially dangerous (such as high winds, low wind chill, low temps and steady rain, or unsafe driving conditions), which may result in cancellation.

Sprouts is a 2-day per week program (Monday and Wednesday) from 9:00am to 12:30pm for the school year. Our littlest friends seem to do best with two days per week, as this provides continuity and stability and helps children become more immersed within the program, social dynamics, skill building and activities. Often kids seem to "settle in" on their second day of the week, finding their groove more quickly.

Children must be at least 4 years old by the start of the program to join the Sprouts cohort.

  • Current Families: Emails will be sent out with enrollment information and instructions, usually in late February.

New/Interested Families: Please join a tour or if none are available, email enrollment@throughthetrees.org. An application will be available to prospective families after they have toured. Submitting an application doesn't guarantee enrollment.

  • We offer the option to pay tuition in monthly payments, due the 1st or 15th of each month spread out over 9 or 12 months and automatically charged to the card used at registration.

A $50 application fee is required for new participants. A $15 registration fee for each day of the week you are enrolling your child, plus 4.5% (of total tuition) processing fee is due at the time of enrollment. Both are non-refundable.

    #Days/Week 9-Month Tuition

    Two $4,185

Family Discount: Families enrolling more than one child at TTT receive 10% off.

  • We are committed to supporting and creating a community that is reflective of Maine's economic diversity. A limited number of Scholarships are available to families who are unable to pay full tuition cost. We encourage you to complete a scholarship application if full tuition pricing creates a financial hardship.

  • If withdrawal from the program or reduced enrollment is desired, there will be a $100 cancellation fee per session. If at least 30-day notification is given by email to transform@throughthetrees.org for withdrawal or reduced enrollment, the remaining monthly payments will be canceled. If less than 30-days notice is given, the next month's payment is required, and all remaining tuition payments thereafter will be canceled. Registration Payment Details: Upon registration, a $15 registration fee per session is paid to TTT, and a 4.5% processing fee of your total is paid to our registration system. Both of these payments are required and non-refundable.

Teaching children about the natural world should be treated as one of the most important events of their lives.
