ABOUT Our Farm Program

We are excited to be offering a new nature-based program for the 2025-26 school year - through the Trees at the Farm! This homeschool program for ages 6-12 will take place at the beautiful Nezinscot North Farm in Turner, ME.

In this idyllic setting, children will get to spend the day at the farm, exploring and playing while engaging in farm activities for a range of ages. Our guides will share farming practices including caring for and connecting with the animals, farm to table cooking and baking, fiber arts such as spinning wool, and other seasonal homesteading and farm chores. We will have plenty of time for exploration of the land and its many ecosystems as we hike the wooded trails, roam through the rolling fields and play along the babbling brook. Children will be able to be able to participate in farming and nature activities and have time for self-directed play, all while learning important skills, cultivating empathy for other living beings, and strengthening confidence and comfort in a farm setting. There is about a 6:1 child to staff ratio with a maximum of 18 children.

The program will mostly be outdoors, rain, snow or shine unless weather is extreme and potentially dangerous (such as high winds, low wind chill, low temps and steady rain, or unsafe driving conditions), which may result in cancellation.

Choose to attend 1 to 2 days per week (Mondays and/or Wednesdays) from 9:00am to 2:30pm for the school year. We encourage families to enroll children for 2 days if at all possible as this provides continuity and stability and helps children become more immersed within the program, social dynamics, skill building and activities. Often kids seem to "settle in" on their second day of the week, finding their groove more quickly.

Aftercare is available for participants in our homeschool program from end of program to 4:00.

*Please note Before Enrolling: At the Farm is brand new for 2025-26 school year. Since it is a pilot program, we are not requiring applications, but children new to TTT should plan to attend a scheduled visit day (dates TBD) before the program year starts. There will also be a 30-day trial period for all new participants to ensure it feels like a good fit for everyone. Please note that for children who require consistent one-on-one attention from our staff or are not able to help uphold our safety guidelines, removal from the program may be required.

Children become connected to the web of life by seeing the relationships between plants, insects, wildlife, and human beings...our own backyard can be the foundation of environmental education and a journey for the whole family.
