Oak Outing Club
Ages 12-15 Adventuring throughout Midcoast Maine
Oak Outing Club offers an opportunity for preteens and younger teens ages 12-15 to get together outside, visiting various places and having lots of fun doing it! Each week we will venture out to different locations for waterfall hikes, oceanside fun, exploring state parks, snow activities in winter, outdoor volunteer work and much more. All outings leave from and return to Through the Trees in Freeport in our passenger van - drop off and pickup is at Through the Trees. Some days will include campfire cooking at Through the Trees! A few days before each outing an email will go out to participants with additional details and a list of what to bring.*
Price includes tickets, entrance fees and other costs associated with various outing locations. Outings are subject to change based on weather and scheduling with venues.
2024-25 Nine-Month Session:
Day: Mondays, September 9th through May 19th. Some Drop-n Dates are available (see below).
Excluded Dates: 11/25/2024, 12/23/2024, 12/30/2024, 02/03/2025, 03/10/2025, 04/14/2025

Drop-In Dates:
January 13 (9:30am-3:00pm): Sledding
Join us for a day of sledding at a local sledding hill! Bring your own sled or borrow one of Through The Trees’. Outings are subject to change based on weather/conditions.
January 27 (9:30am-3:00pm): Skating
Join us for a day of ice skating at a local skating pond or rink. Bring your own skates and helmet! Let us know if you'd like to join and don't have skates or a helmet and we will see what we can do to find some for you to use. Outings are subject to change based on weather/conditions.
February 17 (9:30am-3:00pm): Sledding
Join us for a day of sledding at a local sledding hill! Bring your own sled or borrow one of Through The Trees’. Outings are subject to change based on weather/conditions.
March 3 (9:30am-3:00pm): Skating
Join us for a day of ice skating at a local skating pond or rink. Bring your own skates and helmet! Let us know if you'd like to join and don't have skates or a helmet and we will see what we can do to find some for you to use. Outings are subject to change based on weather/conditions.
March 24 (9:30am-3:00pm): Morse Mountain Hike & Beach
Join us for a hike at Morse Mountain where we will enjoy beautiful views of marshes and the gorgeous Seawall Beach. It is approximate 2 miles from the parking area to the beach where we will enjoy our lunch and hang out before making the 2 mile trek back to the van.
*A 4.5% system processing fee is added to all purchases.
As a 501(c)3 non profit organization, we strive to make our programs available and affordable for as many families as possible. Limited scholarship options may be available for the Oak Outing Club. Please inquire if tuition creates a financial hardship.
