All The World’s A Stage ~ Planting the Seed of Performance
Join us for some creative theatrical play using only our imaginations and the resources around us! During our two days together, we will learn how to collaborate with new friends while creating performance art using only what we have in our own environment.
Performance Artists James Patefield and Mackenzie O’Connor of Portland will encourage participants to get inspired and express themselves through body and voice.
What to Expect:
This will be an all-day program, so please pack a lunch.
We will be outside and exploring for the day, so dress accordingly in clothes that allow you feel comfortable moving around in the elements.
We will start the day working together to explore skills and basics, and will slowly transition into small performance groups as the day continues.
Kids will help find a creative performance space, put together and rehearse a 5 minute piece, and create props out of what they can find in the nearby environment.
There will be a special performance for parents and friends starting at 4pm on the second day, so we can share and celebrate our creative performance.
We hope that each child walks away with new found confidence, joy in play, and a drive to continue to use performance as a tool to speak their minds.
